ABOUT THE SONG:

This song was a complete digital canvas! I set out to chop up and rearrange all these little piano ideas I had and then I changed all of their wave lengths and instrument timbres, panned them all over the place and made them sit just about where I thought they belonged. It's short and to the point, and, a necessary break in the serious tone that the album features, for the most part, up to this point.

Lyrically, it's all about the debates, arguments, disorganization and, well, pretty much comical but stressful nature of the United States of America's political system of the Left and the Right, especially these days.

We live in a zoo.

Where nothing seems right.

The world is upside down,

But what can we do?

We’ve snakes on the right.

Elephants, too.

And the left is such a mess

Since we lost our broom.

Everyday we shuffle through debates and conversations.

And Everyday we sound and act a little condescending.

Some of us are scared to death, the rest are just pretending.

Denying all the rust, that once was steel, on which we’re standing.

It’s quiet at night.

‘cept bullets like drums

like pin pricks to our brains

Scattered cookie crumbs.

And some crazy baffoon

paints the front of the news

his mess destroys our art

and there’s no more glue.

Everyday we shuffle through debates and conversations.

And Everyday we sound and act a little condescending.

Some of us are scared to death, the rest are just pretending.

Denying all the rust, that once was steel, on which we’re standing.
